Where did the summer go???

Since the last post in April we have done a lot.  In June it was Yellowstone and Jackson. July 4th with the Turners. Trying to stay on top of my homework has been so much fun. One more year and then the celebrations begin.
Royce is busy this year. He is on the Swim Team, in drama - they are putting on "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" the 18th, 19th, 20th of November, and working at BK's.
He and I pass every once in a while in the house. 
Will try to take pictures at the play and get those posted.
That about covers it in a nutshell from the Swell.
Maybe I will get fancier next time like everyone else.

Aristocats

Top photo Royce is beat boxing with the Alley Cats singing in the opening song. This is Royce's rendition of Vichy in the kids production of "The Aristocats". He made quite the dog. It was fun to watch. The kids in the adience really enjoyed it when the cat dog chase scene runs through the audience and at the end the cast came out into the audience singing everyone wants to be a cat.
Emery's Drama Students went to State and every contestant received superior ratings (highest honors at state). Emery was given the Superior School Award for having someone inevery event take straight superiors. Royce received a medal for his part.

After the Friday performance it was the girls choice dance "Sadie Hawkins". Royce went to that and then Saturday morning his date picked him up and they went to her house for breakfast. He has had a busy week.

I am just doing the same old thing. Working and doing school work. Can't wait to see everyone that is able to make it to Bri's shower on May 1st.

Royce the Actor

I finally got pictures off the camera so now everyone can see the budding actor in the family. This is all the sides of Royce in the Emery High School production of "Hello Dolly".

This is Royce emerging from what is a waterfall with one of his promenade partners. He had to do it twice due to a larger amount of girls compared to boys. Saddly i don't have any good pictures of his other partner. It was fun to watch and see all the dance skills aquired over the past week or so. And bottom is Royce and I posing just before going out to do the parent dance.

PROM!! Royce and Courtney at their Jr class Prom. The theme of the prom was One Enchanted Evening. They had lots of fun dancing and reminiscing with all of their friends. The following day they ventured off to provo on their date along with three other couples. They went ice skating, got ice cream, and went to dinner, which ended up being tons of fun.

Royce the Werewolf

Drama has been keeping him busy, Tonight is the last night of Hello Dolly. I will try and get some
picutures of him in that. I am going to try and get some video of him singing and dancing as a waiter
holding a tray to show everyone at Christmas. Will make a great conversation piece.

The audience moved from room to room and followed the cast throughout the auditorium front and back.
There were some long dark hallways that made it interesting.

This summer has gone to fast

I can't believe that it is August already. Royce registers for school on the 18th and starts on the 25th. Where did it all go. It has been a quiet summer for me. Last weekend Royce spent at the Emery County Fair. He was in the parade and then went and enjoyed the festivities. Every year they have "Hypno Hick" and Royce was a chosen participant. It is a very funny DVD. They drove a car, flew a plane, were a chicken laying an egg etc. Had a good laugh as I was watching it. Austin did it a few years ago, too.
I enjoyed a great weekend with sister Wendy. We visited with Austin in Cedar City and went to the play "As You Like It" at the Shakespeare Festival. We were joined by my friend Kathy and her Mom. It was nice visiting with them. Sunday Austin, Wendy and I went up to Cedar Breaks and enjoyed a picnic and then a great little hike. It sure is beautiful down there. A lot more hikes I would like to take. Wish I could have spent more time with Austin, but had to get home to work toward another trip. Sure do miss him, but glad he is enjoying himself and getting an education.
Not much else is going on. Just work and school. It has been interesting around the dealership with this Cars for Clunkers promotion. Of course, we have yet to see any money from the government. Everyone have a great week ahead.

Finally some time to add a post

Here are just a few pictures from our great trip to Seattle. I am going to try and post more in a web album I will email out. Had the greatest time The first picture is Maisy at her first baseball game. Then we have the best host and hostess' in Seattle. Austin at the top of the Space Needle, but Royce didn't want to go up, so where is Royce?
We ate a lot and had some great laughs. I wish I had the time and money to just go around and visit with everyone. I love the ocean, but more so in the Northwest as I am a watcher of the ocean and not a surfer. Who knows where I may end up when I decide what I want to be when I grow up. Royce got his license and is driving all over Carbon and Emery counties now. It is music time right now. Royce on the drums and his friend on the keyboard I think.
I had a quiet 4th of July. Watched the parade from my front yard then the fireworks that night from my living room. Royce went up camping that afternoon for the rest of the weekend with his dad. I just relaxed for a change. Not much homework the last two weekends. Next weekend is going to be different with the end of this class coming up. I am scheduled to graduate if I continue at this rate in April 2010. Maybe it will be my birthday present next year.
Went to the Greek Festival in Price last night. Had fun watching the drinkers and the dancers. It was nice to get out with friends. Well that's about as exciting as we get here on the Swell. Maybe I will try and update a little better.

Happy Easter

Royce has been on spring break since Thursday and guess what he has been doing? Yep Xbox Xbox Xbox. He was up most of last night playing. Finally took it is his room about 2 so I couldn't hear him. I spent today doing homework. Such fun it was a case study on the ExxonValdez oil spill. This was the team paper due on Monday. The team I am on this class is pretty good. The professor is not quite what the others have been. He throws out little diversions to keep us all thinking. This is my last weekend for this class then it is onto one about researching.
It is raining here so it was a good day to just stay indoors. Hopefully it will clear off for tomorrow. Our church has their sunrise service up at the pageant site in the foothills. It is beautiful up there to listen to the word of God and see the majesty of the sunrise.

Another class completed

Yea I got through one more class and it was a fun one:( Hope I never have that professor again. I liked the subject of cultural diversity though.
I went to Royce's SEOP or student planning today. He is on track for graduation - wow where are the years going. He got a list of what he has to take next year. The boys spent the weekend with their dad in St George paintballing with their cousins. Seemed to have fun. Royce only came home with a few bruises. I spent Saturday spoiling myself. I went to a day spa and did the whole fun thing. Jacuzzi, Sauna, Massage and Facial. I felt wonderful after, unfortunantly I couldn't just stay there I had to came back to the real world. I am enjoying following everyones blog. It is a great way to keep up on everyone. Next I guess I need to get a FaceBook page. Maybe this weekend I can get the boys to help me. They can help me improve my blog page too. Austin will be home for Spring break for a few days and to get his wisdon teeth pulled-yuck. I still have two of mine, no wonder I am so smart - ha ha. Will write sooner hopefully next time.

New Year

so I tried to add some pictures. Not to bad for a beginner. Will learn how to add words and pictures next. The boys and I spent last weekend in sunny St George. The boys had a wild time playing paint ball with their cousins and uncle. Took a hike up Red Cliffs (One of the Mason's favorite sun spots) and had a fun time. Of course no one had a camera as Royce climbed up through a slot and looked like he was stuck with his feet hanging. Could have really scared someone with that trick. Hope everyone is having a great year.

Christmas vacation (a little late)

Happy Thanksgiving-a little late

Happy Late Thanksgiving to everyone. I am a little slow but I finally get there. No pictures yet, maybe I will figure it out during Christmas break. I am down to the last week of this class then get two weeks off. Thanksgiving and Heather's shower were great. I haven't laughed that much in a while. It is sure a blessing to be thankful for that I have a great loving family. Without you I am not sure I would be as strong as I am. Royce has been spending most of his time on the xbox and I get the computer at night. We got up our little christmas tree and decorated last weekend. we are doing well on the swell. Hope to get to SLC for a few days at christmas to have some more laughs, but won't be quite the same without the caly kids and the ferrari's. Thanksgiving is a time to say Thank you Lord for the blessings you have put into my life. My family and friends.

One class down a gazillion to go

OK so this is not the most exciting looking blog, but hey I am still in the learning stage. I can't seem to get Royce to help me yet. I finished one class monday and started my next one on Tuesday. There is a lot of writing involved. I just live on the computer day and night now.
Royce is taking his drivers ed class learning the handbook. Seems a little late as he has already taken the test and got his learners, but hey that is the way the school/state work. The Gillins are all meeting in Richfield this weekend for a thanksgiving/christmas get together before Grandma and Grandpa head to Arizona. Should be fun for them. Then it will be up to SLC for party party party. I am trying to work it so austin can be there too. Can't wait to see everyone.

Happy Halloween

Looks like everyone had a great Halloween. I haven't gotten into the pictures yet. I forgot to take one of Royce last night. he is taking theater foundation in school and they practiced doing makeup yesterday. His looked pretty good. I went as Harry Potter to work for our luncheon. One of our Service Writers dressed up as the tooth fairy, boobs, fingernails and even shaved his legs. He won for the best costume. Royce had a friend over and played xbox then went and wandered around Huntington for a while. I just answered the door and stayed home. Today was work on homework day. I got most of it done. Still have a paper to finish before monday. I only have 11/2 weeks left in this class then I move onto my next one. I am having to do a little more time management to get everything accomplished. Royce is doing OK in school. He starts his drivers ed classroom on tuesday after school. Well have a great weekend everyone. Can't wait to maybe see everyone at the end of the month.

Starting School

OK so I am not sure I am really ready for this, but Tuesday I start classes online at University of Phoenix. I am getting my Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Imagine that my BS in BM go figure. The switch from Accounting was due to the fact that my Associates was in Business Management so I can transfer more credits this way and it will only take 2 years to complete the degree. Royce and I can now do homework at night together and fight over the computer. Royce is off hunting this weekend and will be back Tuesday night. Hopefully he will get something. Not much else going on in the San Rafael. Can't wait to see everyone next month.

Just another week

Haven't had time to really learn any more to add to this. Have to figure out the camera and down loading pictures so I can add a few. Royce and I are heading to SLC this weekend. Not sure what we are doing other than visiting Auntie Jane. Royce might go visit some old friends from Riverton.
I am going to try and start classes at the University of Phoenix about Oct 9th. See if I can still learn anything. Royce is enjoying high school. Last weekend was homecoming and they lost in overtime. He asked a girl to the dance and she said yes, but mom & dad said no-she is 15. Maybe next time. That's about it for us.

A new learner

Not sure what I am doing, but felt a little left out as we were the only ones without a blog. I will try and update this and add new and exciting things to it as I learn. Maybe it will help as I head back to school too. I am looking into going to school online and getting my bachlors in accounting finally. We will see what happens. Royce just got back from the big parade in Green River he seems a little tired. Late night last night after the homecoming football game.
